About
Terms Unconditional reads what companies' terms, privacy notices, regulators and courts actually say, and shows it with every claim tied to its source.
It covers consumer companies and the businesses behind them, with a focus on households in DC, Maryland and Virginia: the carriers, banks, utilities, insurers and apps they use. For each one it shows the headline finding, how severe it is, the legal tier of the evidence, how much of it has been checked, and what you can do: an arbitration opt-out, a request for your data, a deletion request.
Who makes it
Terms Unconditional is an independent project; no company, law firm or advertiser pays for it. It takes no referral fees and runs no ads. The one thing it sells is the optional follow-through kit for a letter you have already sent; the data, every company page and every letter are free.
How it works
The data is the project's research workbook, rebuilt into a database and served as these pages; its version is in every page footer. How rows are made, rated and checked is on the methodology page, and live counts are on the status page.
No tracking
The site uses no tracking cookies, no advertising and no third-party scripts. The privacy page lists exactly what is kept.
