AdvancedMD sells EHR, practice-management and billing software to small and mid-size practices. It has changed hands repeatedly through private equity and payments companies: Francisco Partners (2008), ADP (2011), Marlin Equity (2015), Global Payments (2018, $700M), and back to Francisco Partners (agreed Oct 2024 for $1.125B, closed Dec 2024). Its privacy notice says client-facing sites may send internet activity to advertising and social networks for personalized marketing, which 'could therefore be considered a share' under California law.
