Ovia is often provided free through an employer or health plan, and that is where the exposure sits. Its current policy says it will not share health data with your employer without your express consent, but it does send a 'summary snapshot' of your health data to your health plan and its business associates, lets the plan's nurse care managers see the data and contact you, and passes your name and date of birth to the plan or employer for eligibility checks. Ovia also reserves the right to sell de-identified data derived from patient information. It says it stopped advertising to consumer users in June 2025.
