Hisense is the only TV maker in the Texas ACR cases under a court order. Texas sued in December 2025 alleging Hisense TVs captured on-screen content and sent viewing data back without consent, and that Hisense did not tell Texans Chinese law can require it to hand that data to the Chinese government. On Dec. 17, 2025 Texas announced a temporary restraining order barring Hisense from collecting, using, selling, sharing or transferring Texans' ACR data while the case proceeds. The case remains in litigation.
