Wyze sells cheap indoor cameras, and twice in five months its systems showed customers other people's homes. In February 2024 a caching failure during an outage mixed up device and user IDs, sending about 13,000 users thumbnails from cameras that were not theirs; 1,504 tapped through. Users reported a similar cross-account viewing problem in September 2023. Earlier, a December 2019 server leak exposed details of roughly 2.4 million customers, and in 2022 Bitdefender disclosed that Wyze had left a camera vulnerability publicly unannounced for about three years.
