No published written channel

The paper trail is disappearing

What it is

A growing share of major companies publish NO privacy email and, in several cases, no privacy mailing address at all. Requests are funnelled exclusively into in-product web forms or phone lines, both of which the company controls and neither of which leaves the consumer holding proof.

Why it matters

A written demand creates a dated record you keep. A web form creates a record only the company keeps, and a phone call creates none. This matters most for the things with hard deadlines and real consequences: arbitration opt-outs (often a 30-day window), deletion demands, and preservation letters. Where no written channel is published, send to the corporate registered agent and keep proof of mailing.

Companies and rows it touches

As recorded in this tracker's contact columns at last review (not re-verified in this pass): Meta, Microsoft and Amazon: web forms only, no privacy email. Charles Schwab: opt-out routed to a phone number; no US privacy mailing address published. Fidelity: privacy policy declines to state one address, directing customers to whatever appears on their own statements. Verizon: privacy office address published, but no email. GEICO: no privacy-specific address published at all.
